Harry Potter and the deathly hallows is the tale of a boy and his friends finally transforming into adults and shedding their childhood fears into the reassured confidence that comes with it. Hermione who was always the reassured one and Ron who always appeared less than confident could not be seen sucked along with Harry into a world of hate, deceit, revenge and the other odds that make up the real world. This book and the resulting movies is the final epic class between Harry and the evil wizard Lord Voldemort.

J.K.Rowling’s classic novel had materials that could have filled an additional two movies however they had to cut it down to two. Needless to say that the producers, screenplay writer and the director had their task cut out to ensure that they don’t miss out on the major areas of the storyline. The Harry Potter fans, running into billions across the globe, would be scrutinizing every mistake that they make and there was tremendous pressure on the entire team and even the lead characters to ensure that the final episodes of this saga ended in a grand note.

J.K.Rowling’s epic adventures of the three school children have ended in a bigger than ever adventure culminating into a faceoff between good and evil.

The Lincoln Lawyer – Starring Matthew McConaughey, Marisa Tomei and Ryan Phillippe. When a wealthy realtor has been accused of raping a prostitute, Mick Haler, a defence lawyer from Lincoln, (played by McConoughey) is appointed to defend him. The realtor says that the victim is only trying to get a hold of his money but Haler thinks otherwise once some evidence of an old case mysteriously seems to be linked to this one.

Priest – Starring Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet and Maggie Q. A sci-fi thriller set in another world tells the story of a priest who goes against the laws of the church and sets off to track down the vampires that kidnapped his niece. Centuries of war between man and vampire have went on and the legendary Warrior priest who survived the last Vampire war lives in obscurity until he learns of his niece’s kidnapping. He sets off on his quest to free her along with her boyfriend, a trigger happy sheriff and a former warrior priestess.

Limitless – Starring Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish and Robert DeNiro, is the story about Eddie Morra, a writer who stumbles upon a drug that has the ability to allow him to use 100% of his mind. The out of work writer (Cooper) believes his life is going nowhere until an old friend introduces him to NZT, an experimental drug that allows him to be more confident and focused than anyone alive. As his career rises to the top he gains the attention of a business mogul who sees a golden money making opportunity (DeNiro) in Eddie. Everything seems to be perfect until the brutal side effects kick in.

There is still something for everyone to enjoy at the cinema as the temperature starts to cool down. Take in a great comedy with your friends like “Our Idiot Brother” or “The Help”. Enjoy a weekend date night with a rom com like “Crazy, Stupid Love” or a great horror flick such as “Fright Night”, a remake of the classic comedy/horror vampire film starring Colin Farrell, or the new thriller “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark”.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes makes a great sci fi film based on the classic series. If you are more interested in seeing a great action adventure flick, you’ll want to catch the remake of Conan the Barbarian or see the new Action Adventure Drama Columbiana, starring Zoe Saldana as a young girl who becomes a fatal assassin after witnessing her parent’s murder . The Smurfs movie starring Neil Patrick Harris is still going strong with both young and old audiences alike however the latest instalment of the Spy Kids movies has managed to knock the little blue guys out of the way to claim the current number six spot.

The books which have been adapted in films and released by the Warner Bros. studios have been a phenomenal success all over the world. Together the seven books which have sold more than 400 million copies the world over and have been translated into more than 65 languages and the eight films which had Daniel Radcliffe play the lead protagonist along with Rupert Grint and Emma Watson play the other two main characters, had been the biggest box office success in Hollywood history. So much so that months before the final movie was done and dusted Warner Bros. already had started looking for the next big idea and the next big cash cow to maintain their bottom line. Warner Bros. have reportedly being looking for the next big idea to dig themselves out of the Hagrid size void they have discovered themselves in after a 12 year period of success.

Harry Potter’s phenomenal success can be hard to imagine. In simple terms the films have racked in a cool $7 Billion at the box office. Overall the franchise has brought in more than $20 Billion in revenue for the Warner Bros. studios. The films and the franchise have been the main revenue earner for the studios for over a decade ever since the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone was released back in 2001.

The Twilight series were based on the four books that Stephenie wrote namely, Twilight which was later published by Little Brown and Company. She also wrote the remaining three books of the saga which were named New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn respectively.

Film adaptations have been done under the directorial supervision of Catherine Hardwicke who directed the first film of the saga. The second movie was directed by Chris Wietz. David Slade directed the third film named Eclipse. The fourth and the fifth movies were created to adapt the last complete book into the big screen and ensure that the elements are properly and honestly portrayed. Most people will say that the forth and the last book was the most difficult of the lot and in spite of a lot of refinement and subtle touches there are rumours the film would be going to be R-rated to accommodate the bloody sequences that the writer Stephenie Meyer has conceived.

The Twilight series have by far created a great deal of interest among fans and Robert Pattison has become an international star for his intense portrayal of the youngest Cullen. His obsession has often put him at loggerheads with the director and the writer of the book.

The final two movies of the saga Breaking Dawn part 1 and part 2 are scheduled for launch on November 2011 and 2012 respectively and eagerly awaited by fans.
